RS232 Data Logger is a free serial port monitor for logging all data flow from real or virtual serial port. It opens the port and logs everything it could read from the port. You can save all logged data to a specified file for later analysis. Serial Data Logger works with virtual machines, among which are VMware and Virtual PC.
